This kind of skills have been often neglected in corporate training, in favor of <\/span><b>hard skills<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: those technical skills,either horizontal or vertical, required by an employee to perform its tasks. Dealing with \u201cbinary couplets\u201d and having specific ways to be measured and tested, hard skills training is particularly suited for e-learning: the \u201c<\/span><b>if this, then that<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201d approach is in fact very similar to <\/span><b>computers\u2019 logic<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and ensures a clear discrimination between correct and wrong. On the contrary, soft skills training implies a number of different opinions and perceptions of the world: this <\/span><b>subjectivity <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">usually needs to be explored through <\/span><b>human interactions<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"PERSONAL_CHARACTERISTICS_HOW_BLENDED_TRAINING_CAN_HELP\"><\/span><b>PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS: HOW BLENDED TRAINING CAN HELP<\/b><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It\u2019s <\/span><b>traditionally acknowledged<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that hard skills training does not require in-class interaction at all, while soft skills training cannot be done without face-to-face time. Well, neither of these statements is totally true. Working with a number of organizations in many business areas, we have learnt that <\/span><b>different approaches<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> can help reaching <\/span><b>different goals<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, but <\/span><b>blended learning<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is often the preferable solution to achieve the <\/span><b>best results<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Why? It all depends on how the training process is structured and how much you want your <\/span><b>learning time<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to be <\/span><b>valuable and effective <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">for students. Let\u2019s think about how every learner has a different <\/span><b>background knowledge<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, as well as needing a specific <\/span><b>lapse of time<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to acquire new information: how can you deal with these personal characteristics when having at your disposal the same time to train a number of people?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"ADAPTIVE_LEARNING_AND_EFFECTIVENESS_THE_NEW_ROLE_OF_IN-CLASS_TIME\"><\/span><b>ADAPTIVE LEARNING AND EFFECTIVENESS: THE NEW ROLE OF IN-CLASS TIME<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n<p><b>E-learning<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> can come in handy to overcome this issue, giving each student a <\/span><b>portfolio of learning contents<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, from which they can adaptively choose and use what they really need to <\/span><b>fill in their gaps<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. We will talk about <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.quiddis.com\/en\/adaptive-learning-training-tailored-to-you\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><b>adaptive learning<\/b><\/a> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">in a future article, but in short it implies that basing on <\/span><b>preliminary exercises<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to assess <\/span><b>existing knowledge<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and on <\/span><b>progress tests<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to check <\/span><b>achieved results<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, the <\/span><b>learning process<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is <\/span><b>tailored<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to suit the specific student\u2019s needs.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Despite being able to learn <\/span><b>at their own pace<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and whenever they want, <\/span><b>learners\u2019 progress<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is always <\/span><b>tracked and supervised<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> by the trainer, who is able to <\/span><b>send reminders <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">to proceed with the assigned lessons or <\/span><b>chat directly <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">with his students.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Both in hard and soft skills training, after this independent e-learning phase, <\/span><b>meeting the trainer<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in class can be useful to <\/span><b>clarify any doubt<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> arisen and <\/span><b>fix contents<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> firmly. Of course, this face-to-face lesson is way <\/span><b>more effective<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, since trainers can be sure about the knowledge already acquired by their students.
