It is a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.quiddis.com\/eng\/from-in-house-server-to-cloud-four-reasons-to-make-the-switch\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Cloud<\/a> space used to <\/span><b>store and manage learning \u201catoms\u201d<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: texts, images, sounds, videos and any other element you want to use to build your lessons. It allows to use and re-use <\/span><b>multimedia elements<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> whenever needed while keeping track of any adjustment made, since every different <\/span><b>\u201craw\u201d version<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is saved in the system. This is probably the most important feature of an LCMS, because it <\/span><b>values and treasures<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> all your <\/span><b>company\u2019s knowledge<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and all the work done in time by your training team.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"WHAT_YOU_NEED_AN_LMS_FOR\"><\/span><b>WHAT YOU NEED AN LMS FOR?\u00a0<\/b><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n<p><b>LMS <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">means <\/span><b>Learning Management System<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. It is not a storage, but the place where the <\/span><b>entire learning community <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">is managed: not only content &#8211; finalized lessons and courses -, but also trainers and learners profiles, tests, reports and any element involved in the <\/span><b>training process<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. It is the place where the trainer can <\/span><b>build classes<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><b>assign specific courses<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, while <\/span><b>automatic reports<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> on learners\u2019 <\/span><b>progress <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">are generated. Therefore, when talking about digital learning, the LMS represents the most important platform to <\/span><b>disseminate<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> training and facilitate <\/span><b>tutoring<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, linking trainers to their students and allowing <\/span><b>distance tracking<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"LCMS_AND_LMS_DIFFERENCE_AND_COMPLEMENTARITY\"><\/span><b>LCMS AND LMS: DIFFERENCE AND COMPLEMENTARITY\u00a0<\/b><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is clear that both the LCMS and LMS are fundamental parts of the<\/span><b> distance training process<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, even if they play very <\/span><b>different roles<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>LCMS <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">is more related to the <\/span><b>back-end<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, in particular the <\/span><b>creation of training materials,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and does <\/span><b>not involve learners<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> at all. It may be <\/span><b>linked <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">to other tools specifically designed to <\/span><b>edit multimedia<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> elements, like storyboard creators or lessons builders, and to an LMS where finalized materials are exported.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On the other side, the <\/span><b>LMS <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">is the main tool to <\/span><b>share content with students<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: it is in fact directly connected to <\/span><b>front-end applications<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, either mobile or desktop, to allow learners to access and use the assigned courses and trainers to track their progress, <\/span><b>whenever and wherever<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> they want.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>LCMS and LMS are indeed <strong>essential<\/strong> and <strong>complementary<\/strong> elements in a digital training process.
